Had read other reviews and this one seem to have good reviews so i purchased it, Actually worked good, Put 300 miles on it and never moved or came lose, I did stop and check it every 100 miles or so. The material appears to be pretty durable and i believe it will last a while, Havent had it in wet weather yet but i think it would do fine. One has to weigh out the options when buying soft sided carrier verses a hard carrier, I didnt plan on using it much so for the money it was worth it, If i used a roof mounted carrier a lot then the hard type would be better because there easier to load.The only draw back i see with this soft sided bag is the zipper doesnt unzip half way around the bag, It stops a little short so you cant really flip the top over and gain full access, Its kinda hard to load this bag if you have a full size SUV like a expedition or a suburban etc because they sit so high, I guess you could use a step ladder ? Fuel mileage suffered about 2-3 mile mpg less with the bag on ... Read More

For the price, I don't think you'll be able to beat these bags.... I actually used them to haul luggage on a small utility trailer rather than on a car top.

My only gripe is that they're a bit rigid in cold weather and not really easy to zip/unzip then, but as long as it's warm they're super easy.

We looked at tons of Car Top Carriers and decided to try this one since it said it was waterproof, and the price was reasonable. We drove through rain, sleet, and snow for 7 hours and the carrier held up great! Everything stayed dry inside. Great carrier for the price.

We recently adopted a large dog from the local shelter. We make monthly trips to visit friends and family about 300 miles away. The addition of the new dog put space at a premium and we decided to purchase the Kar Pak Waterproof car top carrier. We are pleased with our purchase. It has withstood rain, sleet and now snow. It has also handled trips across the Mackinac Bridge with ease. Glad we got our Kar Pak. It definitely makes traveling with "all" of our stuff easier.

We used this to drive 600 miles at about 75 mph, and had no problems. We bought the tie downs that come recommended and they held it down great, even though it was not completely full. We also bought the bars that come recommended, but they didn't work right and we didn't end up needing them, as the luggage rack on our car was fine and the extra tie-downs were plenty to keep the load secure. We didn't drive through any rain so I can't speak to the water-proofness, but the design seems to be adequate to keep everything dry.
